Following intense development works accomplished during winter 2008 the Swiss Racing Team Matech Concepts presented its new project to the public.
The new generation Ford GT1, built according to the new FIA GT 2010 regulations, was to be unveiled at the FIA-GT Media & Test Days held on the High Tech Test Track Paul-Ricard of April 6th and 7th, 2009.
The Matech-Ford was the first car announced for the new GT1 2010 class where Nissan followed with its Nismo GT-R GT1. Jaguar unveiled its GT2 construction later in 2009.
As for now only these 3 new cars have been announced for next year's FIA GT1 battle.
