When I went to Le Mans for the first time (2008), Labre Compétition raced a Saleen S7-R and finished 12th within the two GT classes. We were told that from an engine sound perspective, the Corvette C6.Rs would be the most different one from all other GT cars... but actually the sound coming from the V8 engine of the Saleen S7-R is also very special due to its low-revving nature.

The RML Group engineered the Saleen S7 supercar into a competition model, the S7-R, winning the European Le Mans Series 2001 in the GT1 class and the Spanish GT Championship overall in 2002. In 2004 RML entered the FIA GT Championship with two Saleen S7-Rs.

RML, aka Ray Mallock Ltd., supported Graham Nash Motorsports in 2003 to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

From 2001 to 2003, Konrad Motorsport raced at Le Mans with the Swiss drivers Toni Seiler and Walter Brun.
