I would call this a very nice coffee table book about Porsche. Although it spans the whole Porsche era of the last 110 years, it is certainly not complete and those who seek for details in this book are looking at the wrong place by far… Focus of the book: As the title claims, full photographic coverage of the 917 including predecessor and successor models. This was the third book I bought about the Porsche 917. One could argue that I should have been satisfied with the book “917 – the Heroes, the Victories, the Myth” already. This book covers every race where Porsche officially attended throughout the year. Across 250 pages it contains: - All GT Races (ALMS, LMS, Grand-Am Rolex…) The whole book is spiced [...] In 2008, the Porsche RS Spyder had its first appearence in Europe. As LMP2 car, it was used by 5 different teams: 3 cars by Penske, 2 by Dyson, one by Horag, one by ESSEX and another one by Van Merksteijn. This is one of my favorite Porsche books: During a Reunion at Daytona International Speedway Jeff constructed a temporary studio to photograph more than 125 cars. This is the first book about the updated LMP2 racer Porsche RS Spyder Evo which again was run by the Penske Racing Team as well as the Dyson Racing team. As a fan of the Porsche RS Spyder Evo I rated this with 4. The [...] Focus of the book: One or two pages for each model, 135 pages long, a very nice little compendium about Porsche’s race cars from 1948 to 2007 including the Porsche RS Spyder Evo.
